How does the search status and response rate work?

A small circle on the profile image of each user displays their search status and activity based on their response rate. The search status indicates whether a user is actively looking for a dogsharing partner. It can be set manually, but is also automatically downgraded if the user’s response rate is too low to still be considered "actively searching":

  • Green (Actively searching): The response rate is 50 % or higher. When using the "active" filter in the search, only these profiles are shown.
  • Yellow (Limited, has already found matches): The response rate is between 20 % and 50 %.
  • Red (Not currently searching): The response rate is below 20 %.
The response rate is calculated from the number of received messages that have been replied to, divided by the total number of received messages.

You can also adjust your search status manually in your profile at any time. If you manually pause or set your search to yellow, it will not be automatically upgraded again.

Profiles not used for over six months are no longer shown until the user logs in again.

Grace period for new members: To avoid penalising anyone right away, the automatic downgrade only takes effect after a minimum number of received messages. With only one received message, your status stays green even if you haven’t replied yet. From two received messages onwards, the status can be set to yellow, and from three received messages onwards to red.
